Piano Lessons For Beginners And Beyond
My goal is to make your learning experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, but first...
Let's Be Honest, Shall We?
Let me be totally blunt with you by saying that learning piano is NOT easy. Never was and never will be. There are no shortcuts and if anyone tells you differently, they're lying.
However, with that being said, you should be absolutely aware that anyone with functional fingers and at least one good ear can do it. You can do it, too!
It doesn't matter if you're an absolute beginner, it doesn't matter if you've never read a note of music, or have no prior musical experience whatsoever - if you possess a desire to learn, you can become a confident pianist with impressive skills in a very reasonable amount of time.
Requirements? There are three:
- Good instructions (see piano lessons on DVD)
- and reasonable expectations
What Is The Right Approach?
This is where most beginners make mistakes. There is certainly a wrong way and a right way to start learning piano. Unfortunately, most people do it the wrong way. Whatever you do, don't be one of those people. If you can manage this, you're halfway there.
Here are some of the most common mistakes that many beginners make and that you should avoid:
- don't have consistent step-by-step instructions
- search for tidbits of information all over the internet
- learn by trial and error
- try to figure things out by themselves
- develop bad playing habits
- have unrealistic expectations
How To Do It The Right Way?
From the get-go, it's important to learn how to play correctly. When you're just starting out, it's very easy to develop bad habits, which can later on be very difficult to unlearn. Proper guidance and step-by-step learning is crucial for smooth progression and enjoyable learning experience.
The best way to learn piano is by having a good and consistent teacher. Do you really need a teacher? Of course you do. But it doesn't have to be an expensive, flesh and blood type of teacher. Nowadays, you have many other, much more affordable solutions.
Internet is a great place to find information and as far as piano lessons for beginners are concerned, there are certainly tons of them available online, both free and paid. My experience, unfortunately, is that most of them simply don't deliver. There are, however, a few exceptions.
Here Is My Bottom Line:
If you're really serious about learning piano, don't waste any more of your time and energy by searching for tidbits of information all over the internet - get serious and take a look at - Learn and Master Piano with Will Barrow. You want a teacher? How about a Grammy winning pianist. This is the only piano course you will ever need.
If, on the other hand, you don't feel quite ready yet for serious instructions, take your time, feel free to browse this site and try to learn as much as you can about this wonderful instrument. You can also visit this place and sign up for free beginners lessons.
Just remember this: piano can bring you, your family and your friends a lifetime of joy and delight. So yes, it's worth it.
